Looking for installation help with NXT2.0f3 patch for mindstorms NXT 2.0 software on iMac w/ Lion 10.7.3. Base software installation from CD works fine (with some minor glitches once the NXT software is running that I can live with for now); however, applying the NXT2.0f3 patch (so-called Mac software fix downloaded from Lego) prevents NXT.

The Lego Mindstorms software crashes when I open the NXT Window on my MBP running 10.7.3. I can launch the Mindstorms software fine, but as soon as I open the NTX Window, it crashes. I've been trying to get the leJOS 0.9.0 firmware to run on my NXT brick for many hours today, but I can't seem to get it to work: Every time I try to flash the firmware onto the NXT brick, using either nxjflashg or nxjflash, it seems to run fine, but afterwards I'm left with a NXT brick with the so-called 'clicking brick syndrome': the screen is blank and I hear a faint clicking sound.

After searching a bit (a lot), I came upon , where it is suggested this is a problem with the USB port on my laptop. This doesn't seem to be the case though, as I've tried on another laptop with no success either.
The computers in question are a 2011 MacBook Pro running Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, and a 2008 MacBook running Windows 7 64bit.
Would anyone here be able to help me out?

Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 software is unstable on Yosemite. While it installs with complaints and runs fine, it will soon (minutes to days) begin to crash immediately after starting. A reinstall helps and then the problem starts again. No obvious association with other apps running or not. The Lego Education site says that the SW will work on Windows and Macs except for Yosemite. Does anyone have a workaround or information about the problem? Thanks in advance for any assistance/information.
